Do you buy candles (hopefully just Southern Roots candles...😂), and wonder why they tunnel??? To me, there’s nothing more frustrating than a candle that tunnels (insert candle snobbery here😂)! So what do you do to prevent it??
Here’s what you should do:
Trim the wick slightly, and light the candle. Leave the candle lit initially until the wax melts all the way across the surface; this should be about one hour per inch! Don’t just leave it lit for 15 minutes, and then blow it out. Each of our candle wicks have been tested and measured to fit each jar or ceramic piece to ensure the perfect burn to reach all the way across. With that said, each candle‘s wax should pull all the way across the surface! Wax actually has a memory. It’ll go to the same spot from the first burn, and continue the pattern all the way down.
So there you have it!! That’s how you prevent tunneling!!
